Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Handy for Homes LLC, doing business as Handy Andy (“Handy Andy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information when you use justtextandy.com, our customer and business portals, and our SMS assistant, Andy.

1. Information we collect

• Account and contact information: your phone number, verification and consent records, and any name or email address you provide. Business accounts may also provide company and account-owner details.
• Service information: your messages, requested work, service addresses, apartment or unit, access instructions, scheduling preferences, appointments, service history, reviews, and reminder preferences.
• Location information: if you choose “Use my location” and grant browser permission, your device supplies coordinates to help position a map and find a street address. You can move the pin or enter another address. We save the service address only after you confirm it. We do not continuously track your location.
• Business information: service categories, coverage areas, hours, capacity, booking bids, uploaded credentials, and account-credit transactions. Submitted credential documents may contain personal information.
• Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, security-check results, session identifiers, request and error logs, and message-delivery status. We use browser storage and similar technologies for authentication, security, and keeping the registration process working.

Please do not send payment-card numbers, passwords, government identification numbers, medical details, or door and alarm codes through Andy.

2. How we use information

We use information to verify accounts; understand service requests; find relevant providers; coordinate supported bookings; send requested updates, completion checks, review requests, and service reminders; remember your address and prior preferences; manage business credits; provide support; prevent fraud and misuse; and meet legal obligations. Feature availability depends on provider coverage and the integrations you choose.

3. Optional Google Calendar connection

You can use Andy without connecting Google Calendar. If you connect it, we access the list of calendars available to your Google account, including calendar identifiers, names, and access permissions, so you can select calendars. We check free/busy periods on the calendars you select to avoid scheduling conflicts. Our conflict-checking process does not request the titles or descriptions of your existing events.

With your authorization, the supported booking workflow can create, update, or remove Andy-created appointment events on your selected owned calendar. These events may include the provider, requested service, confirmed location, time, and relevant appointment details. We do not use the connection to read your Gmail or contacts.

We store authorization tokens to maintain your connection, along with calendar preferences and identifiers for Andy-created events. Tokens are encrypted at rest. Disconnect through the available account controls, revoke access in your Google Account connections, or contact us for assistance. Revoking permission stops future authorized access; it does not automatically delete events already saved in Google Calendar.

Google API data is used only for the scheduling features you authorize. We follow the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising or credit decisions, or use it to train general-purpose AI models. Transfers are limited to delivering the authorized features, security, legal compliance, or a permitted business transfer with any required consent. Human access is limited to your specific permission or the security, legal, and other limited exceptions permitted by that policy.

4. Technology and payment providers

We use service providers to operate the platform. These include Netlify for hosting, Supabase for authentication and databases, Twilio for messaging, OpenAI for conversational processing, Google Maps Platform for maps and business information, Cloudflare for security checks, Resend for email, and Stripe for supported payments.

Relevant conversation content and service-request context may be processed by our AI provider to generate responses. Location searches and map interactions send relevant address or coordinate information to Google. Payment details entered into Stripe’s checkout are processed by Stripe; we receive transaction details needed to manage account credits, rather than your full card number. These providers may also process technical information under their own terms and privacy policies.

5. Sharing with contractors

To arrange or fulfill a booking you approve, we may share the requested work, confirmed service address and access instructions, appointment details, and contact information needed for the service with the selected provider. We do not sell your request or distribute it to multiple contractors for unsolicited sales calls. Providers handle information they receive under their own privacy obligations.

If a business is outside Andy’s network, sharing its public contact information with you does not contact it or send it your personal information. If you ask us to consider inviting it, our team may receive the business’s public details and general service demand; this does not authorize sharing your phone number or street address with that business.

6. SMS information and consent

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers, SMS opt-in information, or consent records with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Vendors may process this information as necessary to deliver and administer Handy Andy’s messages. Your consent to Handy Andy texts does not authorize marketing texts from contractors.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. An opt-out confirmation may follow. You can manage service reminders separately through Andy where supported; STOP stops the SMS program.

7. Other disclosures

We may disclose information to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, investigate misuse, protect people and our services, or establish or defend legal rights. Information may transfer in a business transaction subject to applicable law and existing privacy commitments. Google API data and SMS consent information remain subject to the additional restrictions above.

8. Retention and security

We retain information for the purposes described here, including providing service history, managing bookings and credits, honoring opt-outs, resolving disputes, and meeting accounting and legal requirements. Retention varies by record type. We remove or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, subject to legal requirements and routine backup cycles. Google authorization data is removed when the connection is disconnected through our controls or a verified deletion request is completed, except records we must lawfully retain.

We use reasonable access controls and technical safeguards. No online service or SMS transmission is completely secure. Our providers may process information in the United States or other locations where they operate.

9. Your choices and requests

You can decline location permission, enter an address manually, skip Google Calendar, revoke calendar access, or opt out of SMS. To request access, correction, account deletion, or deletion of your personal information, email justtextandy@gmail.com. We will verify your identity and respond as applicable law requires. Some transaction, security, legal, or opt-out records may need to remain. Declining information needed for a feature may prevent that feature from working.

10. Adults, external links, and changes

Handy Andy is intended for adults age 18 and older, not children. Contact us if a child has supplied personal information. Websites and services linked by Andy have their own policies. We will update the effective date when this policy changes and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required, including for material changes to authorized Google-data use.
